SurfBouncer Personal VPN Service

 SurfBouncer Personal VPN

The solution for blocked IP phones and web sites.

Unblock the internet with a personal vpn

Perhaps you live or work outside of the United States and notice that you can not access your favorite web or movie sites. Maybe you want to access the US version of some web sites but aren't able to.

Many localities block access to web sites around the world. SurfBouncer provides your computer with a real USA IP address. Web sites that you visit will recognize you as coming from the United States regardless of where you physically are located. Censored web sites become a thing of the past.

If you use an IP phone service such as Skype* or Vonage* and realize that the country you are in or your local ISP is blocking your phone service, you should consider SurfBouncer. Because SurfBouncer creates an encrypted VPN tunnel through which your calls pass, your local ISP no longer knows that you are making an IP call and therefore can't block it.

When calling the United States, are you paying high fees and tolls? Make local calls in the USA using your IP phone and avoid expensive toll calls. The USA IP address SurfBouncer provides allows your IP phone to recognize you as a United Stated caller. Many times it is also cheaper to call another country when originating in the United States. SurfBouncer makes your IP phone call appear to be coming from the USA.

VPN Appliance for your entire home or small business network.
Do you need to plug in a regular or Ethernet based IP phone into a VPN to get access to your IP phone service? Now available is our VPN Appliance which allows up to 4 phones to be directly plugged into it's Ethernet ports**. The appliance automatically connects to the VPN network and encrypts all traffic both web and phone based behind the router. See the details on the VPN Appliance page.

UDP vs. TCP, why your personal VPN needs to work with both.
The default protocol for most VPN applications is UDP. This protocol works well for most applications and transmits time sensitive data like IP phone calls well. On some occasions international ISP's block the UDP protocol in one way or another. Many times international locations will experience network congestion and long latency as the data travels across the globe through many hops. In such situations the UDP protocol might drop a lot of data causing very poor IP phone quality and dropped connections. For this reason we offer a choice between the UDP protocol and the TCP protocol. With a perfect connection UDP will outperform TCP in a VPN application. However as the quality of the network worsens, TCP becomes the preferred option. With proper tweaking a TCP VPN connection can carry an IP phone call and also can support surfing better than UDP on poor connections. Offering both options helps ensure our international customers will get the best connection possible.

Ports, multiple choices mean more ways to get through.
Just as the choice between internet protocols is important so is being able to chose which port your VPN will go out on. Many places block certain ports to prevent VPN connections or throttle known VPN ports to downgrade performance. We offer multiple choices of ports to use to connect to SurfBouncer to ensure the best possible VPN performance.
